sformed a 17th-century monastery into a hotel and spa in Arco, Alto Garda, Italy. The design is inspired by certain typical rural constructions, which can be found on the lakes shore.

The project, named Monastero, is located in the centre of Arco, situated at the northern tip of Lake Garda. This noble complex is distinguished with its’ extensive garden, is encompassed by a high surrounding wall and dates all the way back to the second half of the 17th century.

The architects preserved the half of the Monastery building, which also hosts a church and cloister, where nuns continue to live. The team closely worked with the Trento Office of Cultural Heritage to adapt the original features of the building.

The project was completed in two main phases: In the first stage, the team renovatedand converted the monasteryand its interiors into a hotel by creating common spaces such as reception, lobby, breakfast room, bar area and kitchen on the ground floor with the rooms mainly distributed between the first floor and the loft.
