STUDIO MOB ARRANGES INDOOR-OUTDOOR LIVING LAYOUT

Studio Mob’s latest project in Coimbatore, India, seamlessly blends the charm of a farmhouse with the functionality of a modern bungalow. This generational home integrates private spaces for each family member within a spacious, interconnected layout, emphasizing indoor-outdoor living. The residence is strategically oriented to the southwest, optimizing natural light and ventilation. Surrounded by coconut palms, it offers a serene farm setting on one side contrasting with the city’s bustling energy on the other.

The design features separate vehicular and pedestrian entries, lush landscaping, and minimal west-facing openings to ensure privacy. Large east-facing windows provide ample natural light without excessive heat, while a central garden shaded from the afternoon sun serves as a tranquil focal point.A standout feature is the distinctive staircase, adorned with a skylight and a towering louvered window, which illuminates the space and the sacred Puja room at its center. This feature not only floods the home with natural light but also facilitates gentle ventilation.

CONCRETE, BRICKS, AND WHITE WOOD CRAFT MINIMALISTIC HOUSE

The material palette includes concrete, exposed bricks, and accents of white wood, reflecting a minimalist aesthetic. The Coimbatore-based multidisciplinary studio opts for black granite and steel perforated gates to add a contemporary edge. Notable design elements include an open-to-sky courtyard in the son’s bedroom and anthropometrically integrated staircase railings, ensuring functionality for residents of all heights.Sustainability is emphasized with furniture crafted from repurposed wood, ensuring that every element serves both form and function. A custom-designed screen elegantly separates the main entry passage from the private garden adjoining the son’s bedroom, enhancing privacy and aesthetic harmony.Studio Mob’s project seamlessly integrates architectural innovation with the natural and urban landscapes of Coimbatore, delivering a harmonious living environment that balances tradition with modernity, privacy with connectivity,
