Copenhagen Architecture Festival (CAFx) is back.
Born in 2014, CAFx aims at rethinking architecture’s representation and engages a wide public in the discussion about the impact of architecture on our everyday lives. In response to the most pressing global issues of current times, this year’s theme ‘Landscapes of Care’ focuses on the relation between health and the built environment, the spatial expressions of equality/inequality within communities, and the role of architecture in or against ecological collapse.
We invite you to explore questions of care, empathy and sustainability in architecture and urban space through a diversified range of events comprising film screenings, debates, exhibitions, seminars, art performances and guided city walks. This rich public program features the World Premiere of the documentary Another kind of knowledge bout Danish architect Dorte Mandrup, a special focus on David Lynch through an exhibition, dinner events and selected films, and a day dedicated to gender and architecture at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, among many other initiatives.
As the practice of designers, architects and urban planners mutates to address socio-political issues of identity, togetherness and urban change, ‘Landscapes of Care’ contributes to a shift towards greater sensitivity to matters of interconnection, association and interdependence.
The largest annual architecture festival in Scandinavia and the biggest film festival for architecture in the world will take place in Copenhagen and Aarhus, 7- 17 October 2021.
